MPP200-MPEG2-2 is a dual channel IPTV SD MPEG-2 encoder capable of streaming to unicast or multicast destinations.

It consists of 2-slot chassis with power supply and  two AVN220 – IPTV SD MPEG-2 encoder blades.

Each AVN220 streams real time DVD quality video over LAN or WAN infrastructures. Plug two video sources directly into the blades, plug into the network via the RJ-45 connections, and stream two real-time DVD quality videos over your LAN or WAN. The MPP200 with AVN220 blades is suitable for applications requiring cost effective, high bit rate video distribution over IP networks. It streams videos at 30 fps with full screen resolution of 720x480 NTSC, or 25 fps of 720x576 PAL or with selectable reduced resolutions to conserve bandwidth.

Use any standards compliant method to decode and view the AVN220 encoded IP network video stream, such as a PC with MPEG-2 software player, a PC with PackeTV™ software or a TV monitor with an IP Set Top Box (for example, Amino110).

The AVN220 has a unique embedded platform that enables consistent full motion video preserved from: delay, jitter, packet losses, and packet out-of-order instabilities.

Features of each AVN220

  • Superior Audio/Video Quality. MPEG-2 hardware compression and Visionary Solutions’ optimized transmission technology provides a video image at full frame rates and D1 resolution. The video streams can be viewed by an unlimited number of clients on a LAN or WAN with 25 fps PAL or 30 fps NTSC assured, provided that bandwidth is available. Available image resolutions are: 720x480, 480x480, 352x480, 352x240 NTSC; and 720x576, 480x576, 352x576, 352x288 PAL. The video bit rate can be configured from 1.5 Mbit/s to 15 Mbit/s. The audio compression is MPEG-1 Layer 2 audio encoding at either 256 or 384 kbps with a 48 KHz sample rate.
  • Video Inputs. Each AVN220 includes one BNC composite input and one S-Video input for connecting video source equipment.
  • Audio Inputs. A terminal block connector provides audio inputs for Balanced and Unbalanced connections. This allows for easy onsite connections regardless of the cabling outputs of the audio source. The AVN220 features user control of audio parameters, including mute, pre-amp and volume.
  • External Device Connections. The AVN220 includes a serial connection via an RJ-45 or an RJ-11 connector. This connector can be used as an RS-232 port (full-duplex, no hand shaking) or an RS-422 (full-duplex) port. These ports allow the AVN220 to interface with a variety of external devices, such as Pan/Tilt/Zoom (PTZ) devices.
  • Management & Configuration of the device is accomplished by any of four methods: PackeTV™ Manager, console menus, a Web interface, or the AVN Control Protocol API. TCP/IP, HTTP, and other Internet-related protocols are supported.
  • PackeTV™ Manager (optional). PackeTV™ Manager software works in conjunction with the AVN220, enabling live viewing, recording, and extensive AVN220 control and configuration. With username and password control, administrators can select and lock an AVN220’s properties for added security.
  • PackeTV™ Configuration Utility (included) enables quick and efficient setup and mass reconfiguration of key settings including bit rate, video resolution and multicast destination IP addresses.

Specifications Summary for each AVN220
